Mongolian Prime Minister Jargaltulga Erdenebat: Project of Tavan tolgoi will be discussed by the Parliament; $580 million of debt will be paid on time

Prime Minister Jargaltulga Erdenebat attended the Seminar for newly elected capital city Mayor, provincial Governors, and Heads of local council (Citizens' Representatives' Hural - CRH). The objective of the seminar is to give an inclusive understanding on the implementation of the Basic guidelines for 2017 socio-economic development of Mongolia and budget expenditure; define the tasks ofnewly appointed Governors and Heads of local council; and sign the cooperation agreement between members of Government and Governors.

The Prime Minister informed the participants about the current affairs, answered their questions and gave them some instructions.

Mongolia is to pay $580 million debt in the first half of 2017. PM said that the government made its best to pay this debt on time without hindrances, without burden to the economy and without pressure on the people. He also made denied the news about selling 49% of Tavan tolgoideposit for $400 million to only one company. Therefore the working group established by the government will soon submit its conclusions to the State Great Khural. Prime Minister said that the decision about this world-class deposit will be made only with respect to the interests of the people of Mongolia, stated the Media and public relations department of the Government.
